SODIUM BENZOATE
Sodium Benzoate is primarily used as a preservative in food and beverage applications as an antimicrobial agent. Sodium Benzoate is typically used at levels up to 0.1% in food and beverage, is FDA Approved and GRAS classified. It is most suitable when used in foods and beverages with a pH of 4.5 or below. Sodium benzoate is not recommended as a preservative at pH ranges higher than 4.5.
